A period Cotswold
stone cottage situated on the edge of the charming village of Blockley, a centre
for silk milling in the 19th century. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,
perfect for walks, bird watching, relaxation. A wonderful base from which to
explore and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Cotswolds. Excellent walks from
the cottage front door!
Skylark Cottage was originally a silk-workers cottage. Recently restored, this
peaceful rural retreat has oak beams and exposed stone. Accommodation is on
three floors (steep stairs) and sleeps 2 to 4 guests in one double and one twin
bedroom. Awarded a 4 star English Tourist Council rating, Skylark Cottage is
also one of
Alastair Sawday's 'Special Escapes'.
Each room in the cottage has a view. The living room, at garden level, has
French doors opening onto the delightful cottage garden with panoramic views to
the hills in the distance and where skylarks can sometimes be seen in the
fields. The cottage also overlooks the Northwick Park Estate.
We hope to make your stay at Skylark Cottage as comfortable as possible. When
you arrive the beds will be made, towels ready, heating on, and a welcome tea
tray laid out in the kitchen. We can also arrange for an award winning
Riverford Farm Organic Vegetable
Box to be waiting for you (Deliveries on Fridays).
Skylark Cottage is self-catering and can be rented for whole weeks from the end
of March to the end of October. During winter we take bookings for weekend
breaks, minimum two nights. Christmas and New Year are always popular and we ask
that bookings be made for whole weeks at that time. Our on-line calendar is
usually up to date. Please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss your
requirements.
